I found this McLaren 720s Spider at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Bellevue. I was informed that giant truck in these pics belongs to a Seahawks player by the name of Derick Hall. Surprisingly, this is the first 720s I manage to catch. The year of 2023, was, without a doubt, my most successful year of car spotting so far. I surpassed all my other years of spotting, both in terms of best spots captured, as well as the greatest number of exotics caught. It all started in January when I traveled to Miami for a Disney cruise with my family. Because I had a few hours of free time, before, as well as after the cruise, I was able to go spotting in one of the worlds greatest supercar hotspots. My best spots from the Miami Beach area are the following: Bugatti Chiron Purr Sport, Mercedes-Benz Renntech SLR Roadster, Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Roadster Final Edition, and Ferrari SF90 Spider. During the cruise, the ship stopped at Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands. After spending some time at the beach with my family, one of my brothers and I, in spite of the scorching heat, decided to walk around the surrounding neighborhoods to see what we could find. After spotting a BMW I later found out was a fake M6, I was very excited to capture my first Mercedes-AMG GT R. During the next half an hour, my brother and I managed to catch four more exotics, including a BMW i8 and a beautiful Fisker Karma. I was happy that I was able to spot at least 5 cars, allowing me to upload the minimum number of spots for the sotd voting. My spots from the Cayman Islands resulted in the Cayman Island flag being added to the AG database. The AMG GT R I spotted remains one of my favorite spots due to the circumstances I spotted it in. This recap would be incomplete if I left out my favorite go-to location for spots. This year, Overlake Golf and Country Club provided me with numerous incredible spots. On a sunny Friday in May, I decided to head over to the golf club to see if I could spot one of the top notch supercars that had been spotted there recently. After a forty minute drive due to the heavy traffic, to my disbelief, I found the LaFerrari that had been spotted there a few times the previous summer. I was so excited that when I got out of my car, I forgot my keys in my Nissan Versa and I had to call a locksmith and pay a hefty fine. My parents were not happy. Two weeks later, on another warm Friday, I captured a Ferrari SF90 there. Less than a week later, after seeing on Instagram that a Porsche 918 Spyder was at Overlake, I decided to try my luck. Alone and behold it was there, parked in a perfect spot for photos. I was very happy to finally have caught this one. You see, during the summer of 2021, I went to Overlake trying to catch this exact car. While I was unsuccessful, I somehow spotted a different 918 Spyder nearby, at the Kirkland waterfront. I also spotted a very rare Porsche 993 Turbo S at Overlake this year, as well as a Ferrari 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano. These are the best of my many spots from Overlake this year. One of my favorite spots of the year was a Lamborghini Aventador SV that I spotted at Inglewood Golf Club. I had never spotted anything there, so it was a surprise seeing a Ferrari Roma as I pulled into the lot. As I prepared to park in order to get some shots of it, I could not believe my eyes when I caught sight of a stunning yellow Aventador SV casually parked in a perfect spot for photos. I completely ignored the Ferrari, spending most of my time on the SV. An additional event worth mentioning was my trip to Paris toward the end of the year. While I did barely any spotting for the reason that it was mostly a sightseeing trip, I did catch some supercars in Paris, as well as in Rome. The following are my top 10 spots of 2023: 10. Ferrari 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano (Medina, WA) 9. Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce (Kenmore, WA) 8. Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Roadster Final Edition (Miami Beach, FL) 7. Mercedes-Benz Renntech SLR McLaren Roadster (Miami Beach, FL) 6. Porsche 918 Spyder (Medina, WA) 5. Porsche 993 Turbo S (Bellevue, WA) 4. Porsche 993 Turbo S (Medina, WA) 3. Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6 (Miami Beach, FL) 2. Ferrari Laferrari (Medina, WA) 1. Bugatti Chiron Purr Sport (Sunny Isles Beach, FL). In addition to amazing spots, I also caught the greatest number of exotic cars this year. For example, I spotted 30 Ferraris this year, compared to 11 of last year and 24 Lamborghinis this year, compared to only six last year. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the spots from the AG community this year, especially the uploads of my fellow US spotters. I look forward to seeing what the new year brings. With that said, carspotting, while a very fun hobby to enjoy, has taken a lot of my time these past few years. For 2024, I plan to substantially decrease the amount of time I dedicate to cars, so that I can dedicate more of my time to God, my family, and my studies. Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New year Jonathan. I’m so glad that we’ve got in contact in 2023, and I thank you so much for introducing me to autogespot, it’s changed car spotting for me a lot and I do appreciate it. I still hope that we are able to meet in person someday this year, possibly at SGC (if either of us will still work there), or somewhere else, but we’ll just have to see. wish you the best for 2024, and I hope you are able to focus more on the things that are most important to you and still hold your ties to the car community and all of us on autogespot.

Beautiful color on this 720! I spotted significantly less cars in 2023 than 2022 as I dedicated more time to friends, family, travel, and work. Theres more to just cars in life. Cheers to 2024!
