Here is Spot #2700. I found this insanely rare and valuable 1956 Maserati 450S driving on Smith Ridge Road/CT-123 just as soon as I was about to cross the border into Vista, New York. Flipped a u-turn and followed it until the owner pulled over so I could get some more pictures. He was telling me about the car and how this was the least successful out of the Maserati race cars due to the massive engine block adding weight. Still real cool to spot though! Was not expecting to find this at 8:00 at night! License plate: HX·54722 (NY)

Holy smokes, this spot is so unreal! This piece of art belongs in a museum with todays standards. Amazing find! Makes me happy to see cars like these are still being driven sometimes.

What an insane find! Super cool to see it actually out on the road, I love the pics of it driving in regular traffic. Really glad the owner pulled over though so you had the chance to get some decent pics of this car while parked. Crazy to see that enige and everything.

@Nightcrawler @MercedesFreak @PetrolPower @LucasH @Exclusieveautofotografie.nl @Chieltje thank you everyone for the comments!! Spots like this makes me wonder why I spot in Greenwich. I always seem to find the crazy classics in New Canaan.
@hardstyler the owner told me himself that these cars are meant to be driven and if you don't drive it within six months of owning it, sell and give it to someone else who will enjoy the car.

Holy crap!!! This is probably one of the best spots on here in a while! I can't believe some of the cars you actually manage to catch on camera just casually cruising around.

@ar-a-mach I believe the front plate is a decoration, in New York you are supposed to have both front and rear plates. Guess this car isn't taken out very often so police don't really care.
@NCspotter thank you! I have a lot more top spots that I still need to post on here.

Nice car and pictures, but I am really afraid that this is a replica. When you tap the license plate in Google, you will find stories about that. What made me doubt was the too modern interior as well as the "Maserati' logo on the dash. The real one is described in this article : https://frenomotor.com/maserati/subasta-maserati-450s-stirling-moss#jp-carousel-6167

The article I am referring to is in Spanish, which is not my native language. After reading it more carefully, it seems that the described Maserati is not an original 450S, but one that was modified by the factory . It started life as a 350S, was raced by Stirling Moss in the Mille Miglia 1956, but he got an accident. The chassis was reused and Maserati installed a bigger 5.7 ltr block, and for that had to increase the wheelbase. The car was again raced by Moss in Buenos Aires, after which the history is a bit vague. The car was sold without a motor, and finally in 1987 it got a 4,5 ltr V8 and was taking part in the Mille Miglia of 1987.
It is clear that all these old Italian cars have a long history, and that it remains not clear what is original when there is little documentation.

[@joos straetmans] I think I remember the owner telling me something about that. I have his Instagram, I'll definitely message him.
