I think I’m a die-hard Koenigsegg superfan, no doubt about it. I first laid eyes on a Koenigsegg CCR in Chengdu when I was a kid – you can find photos of this car on AG. Its design and performance, so far ahead of its time, won my heart completely for this Swedish hypercar ghost right then and there. Then in 2014, the Need for Speed movie left me utterly awestruck all over again, thanks to the stunning red Agera R featured in it.
To me, Koenigsegg has an aesthetic that’s worlds apart from Pagani and Bugatti. It doesn’t have Pagani’s effortless grace, nor Bugatti’s sleek minimalism; instead, it exudes a totally unique, icy aura – like a Viking longship bursting through the mist and charging straight at you. In the years that followed, I spotted several different Agera models across China. When the Regera was unveiled in 2016, I was brimming with anticipation to see this brand-new Koenigsegg on Chinese soil. Sadly, regulatory restrictions meant it never made its way to the Chinese mainland.
Time slipped by, and 2025 rolled around. As I watched a Jesko roar out of the port, I knew it – Koenigsegg was back！
