I could hardly believe my eyes when I found this R8 parked at the Palm Restaurant a couple weeks ago. This is the first new R8 I've spotted, and the only orange R8 I've ever seen in person. The reason I wasn't expecting to see this at that restaurant was because it was a Monday at like 3:00 in the afternoon, but I'll take an unexpected spotting over no spotting any day! This was my second R8 spotting of the day, the other being a blacked out 2014 V8 model.

@NCspotter. All your shots really turned out excellent Nick. That color really shows how cool of a car that new R8 really is.

@UrosP @Horse-Power thanks guys! West, before this month, literally every R8 I had ever seen had been either black, grey, silver, or white (save for a blue one, red one, and lime green one), and aside from the outliers, their colors were somewhat bland. But this definitely stuck out in orange. Kind of funny, I saw another R8 V10 yesterday (a first-gen model) which was grey, and had my brother not pointed it out to me, I wouldn't have even seen it even though it was pretty easy to see from the road.

@NCspotter, Hi Nick yesterday afternoon I finally had a chance to drive the new R8 plus. I have to say it screams Lamborghini in every way. If somebody were to blindfold me into the car I would of thought I was in a Huracan only with a little more headroom. Pressing the Race button really makes this car come alive in a big way. Unlike the old car this has a shifter on the center console to engage the automatic gearbox. I drove this bull for around 11 miles so it was a short drive but I left satisfied with feeling this cars true potential. This bull is a very fast! I hope your having a good week buddy?

@Horse-Power you sure have driven some amazing cars! I still think I prefer the first-gen R8, but I'm sure any R8 would blast to drive. I think I've come down with some sort of cold, so I'm going to take it easy today, but fortunately spring break is this week so I don't have many deadlines to meet. Hope you're doing well, talk with you soon.

Hi Nick On Friday I finally drove the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio it was just unbelievable. I did put on around 7.3 miles. I did get the chance to feel the acceleration as well as it's handling. I only experienced one hiccup. When nailing the throttle all the way to the floorboard under take off there was a hesitation before the car drove off. I also had the same experience in second gear? Otherwise the car was just brilliant. Believe it or not the base version is pretty special as well. I did drive that car he day before. Talk with you soon buddy.

@Horse-Power wow dang, you've had a pretty good March by the sounds of it! Do you think the hesitation was turbo lag? My mom's car (which is older, a 2000 model VW) has a 1.8T, and there is some hesitation when you floor it from a stop. I think it is a combination of an early application of throttle by wire and turbo lag, but a new car like the Guilia shouldn't have any throttle by wire issues. The reviews I've seen of the Guilia QF have been very positive, so I hope it does well for Alfa. Can't wait to spot one, they look really good in pics. Talk with you soon West.

@NCspotter. Hi Nick the base Guilia did not have the same issues when I drove the car the day before, and I did drive that one just as hard so the lag was more noticeable on the QV. I had the switch in race mode on the QV so I thought the car was shifting and accelerating hard under normal pedal pressure. I need to drive another in the future to see if this is the norm. I have had a great March in terms of cars driven. I have also driven a brand new Audi RS7 Performance Prestige sedan with over 600 bhp. My first track day is in June with the Acura NSX so I am really looking forward to that day. Take care my friend and talk with you soon.

@NCspotter, Hi Nick I hope all is well buddy? We were talking about the list of cars we wanted to see for 2017 I have been fortunate enough to see most of them on my bucket list. The only one still left is the 2017 Ford GT, and I cannot stop wondering on how many will be coming to Georgia? Anyways my friend I hope you have a great weekend, and like always I cannot wait to see your next post. I hope your school schedule allows you some free time to spot.

@Horse-Power Hi West, I've had a busy past couple weeks. Just got home from Charlotte on Thursday and am trying to meet the deadlines for my classes. But other than that everything's good. I haven't seen a whole lot of exotics lately, although I did see a very rare Audi last weekend in Charlotte. I'll try to post some pics this week. It will be just the second one of its kind posted from the U.S. It wasn't necessarily on my spotting bucket list, but who really cares when it's that rare? Haha. Anyway, hope you're doing well and get to spot that Ford GT soon, and I'll talk with you later.

@NCspotter, Hi Nick I cannot wait to see that Audi your talking about! That's one of the great things about spotting, you just never know what is lurking around the corner. I spotted a low production model Lambo on Friday. The Gallardo had so many different variants it looks like the Huracan may follow that trend as well. I hope your Saturday is a restful one buddy.

@Horse-Power I have a couple pics of it ready to post from my Autogespot folder, so I'll post it this week. It's not so much of a true exotic as it is just a very rare bird, but it's a very rare bird. I can't wait to see what Lamborghini you spotted! You've spotted so many of the special-edition Gallardos that I couldn't even begin to guess which one it will be. I'm still trying to spot my first Huracan Spyder! Anyway, take care buddy, I'll talk with you later.
