I could hardly believe my eyes last night when I saw this brand new NSX parked on North St right near Glenwood Ave! We were driving around downtown Raleigh last night after attending attending a play one of my brother's friends was in, and I decided to take a quick drive up Glenwood. And man, am I glad I did. This is the first NSX posted from the United States, and just the fifth on AG! The driver was super cool, and if I had driven past just five minutes earlier or later I would have missed seeing this. I believe the driver is also the owner of Taggart Autosport, which is a dealership in Cary, and was just driving this around Raleigh for promotion.

@OPspotters thanks man! Even though you're in Kansas, I'm surprised you weren't able to hear me when I screamed out "THAT'S A NEW NSX!" when I first saw it lol.

Insane spot!!! There's one running around Greenwich that I still need to spot on the road.

@Rivitography thanks man! I hope you spot it soon! The dealership this is from has had some INSANE cars come through over the handful of years it has been open, but so far I've only spotted this and a California. At one point they had two or three 918s in their showroom at the same time, which is unheard of for the Carolinas lol.

@NCspotter. A huge spot Nick! A big congrats on getting a well deserved SOTD as well. When you first seen this car did you think at first it was the new Audi R8?

@Horse-Power thanks man!!! When I first saw it was I was driving down Glenwood Ave, I saw it from the back, so I knew it was a new NSX. The front does remind me a little bit of the R8, although in this spec the white paint really does help distinguish it from the R8. I still have not seen a new R8 yet, hope to soon though!

The new R8 looks exactly like the old one, ugly

Insane spot Nick!! Glad the shots turned out well for you, especially shot #2 which looks amazing. How have things been with you? It's been forever since I logged on here.

@Lamborarri thanks man! I got extremely lucky with the lighting, as it gave me a chance to shoot at a relatively low ISO, so the pics look better than they probably should. I have been crazy busy lately and haven't had time to post much on here, as a short-semester class just started up this past weekend and I'm beat. I have spotted some cool cars lately though, so I'll be posting them soon. Hope you're doing well, haven't seen you post on here or ES in months so it's good to hear from you.

@NCspotter. Hi Nick I did finally see a NSX in Atlanta. I wish it was a spot but it was parked in front of the Ferrari store I guess for sale? Your right it does not look like the new R8 maybe more like a McLaren. Once again just an amazing spot here.

@Horse-Power I'm sure it won't be long until you see some driving around on the streets! There is way too much money in Atlanta for that not to be the case. Funny that you just saw your first NSX; I had a first-for-me spotting this past week of a new R8.

@NCspotter. Hi Nick I hope the new year is going well for you? Here it is 12 days into 2017, and I have only seen one exotic. This coming weekend should be sunny, and reaching the 70's so I am hoping the cars come out. I should have a chance to drive the NSX on track this summer. I will be able to compare it to the 488 as well. Talk with you soon buddy.

@Horse-Power wow, that sounds like a spotting slump of epic proportions for you! The year has already flown by already, and this semester started today so it's only going to get busier! I have seen a few cars around (R8, GT-R, Bentley, etc), but they probably don't even count as exotics in your book! I can't wait to see what you think of the NSX and 488, especially after driving them on a track! Have a good weekend man.

@NCspotter. Hi Nick after finally spotting one in the wild I have to say that I think a Audi R8 looks, and sound better of the two. It is always a huge high to see a new model on the open road for the first time. Have a great week my friend.

  20. Profile pic
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA NCspotter  -  à 17:51

@Horse-Power I definitely agree that the R8 sounds better than the NSX. I'm not too crazy about either car's looks, but I feel like the NSX looks a little derivative of the R8 without actually looking like an R8, if that makes any sense. Have a great week yourself.

@NCspotter, Hi Nick what are the top 5 cars that you would like to spot for 2017. Now that the NSX is out of the way, the new Ford GT is really high on mine.

  22. Profile pic
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA NCspotter  -  à 03:47

@Horse-Power my top five would be (in no particular order) an Aston Martin V12 Vantage S with a seven speed dogleg gearbox, a Ferrari 430 Scuderia 16M Spider, McLaren P1, Porsche Carrera GT, and Porsche 959. I know that there are at least two of each in North Carolina except the Aston Martin, although the Aston dealership brought one to C&C in December so I have seen one in person. How about you?

  23. Profile pic
    UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Horse-Power  -  à 10:45

@NCspotter. Hi Nick my list would include a McLaren 675 LT Spider, Aventador SV Roadster, and any model that I have not seen in Atlanta before. I hope the cars come out in numbers for you in 2017 I always enjoy seeing your shots buddy!

  24. Profile pic
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA NCspotter  -  à 19:35

@Horse-Power I would also love to spot an Aventador SV Roadster! There is one about 30 minutes south of Charlotte in SC....the owner has brought it to C&C Charlotte a couple times, but unfortunately I have not been there when he was, so I have not seen it in person yet. Another car on my list to spot would be a McLaren 688 HS, as I just learned that one of the P1 owners now has one. It is number 17 out of the 25 produced worldwide. Maybe you can come up here and spot it sometime, because I sure can't seem to! lol

@NCspotter. Hi Nick I hope all is well? I really need to visit Charlotte again, it has been a few years since I was there. Spotting with you one day would be a great thing buddy! I can scratch off another car from the 2017 bucket list. Yesterday I spotted a Ferrari GTC4 Lusso on the road. I have to say she looked, and sounded incredible! Not a bad way to start off the weekend here in Atlanta. Have a great weekend your self, and I will talk with you soon.

  26. Profile pic
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA NCspotter  -  à 03:35

@Horse-Power I would definitely enjoy that, whether it be in Atlanta or Charlotte! Great catch on the GTC4Lusso! I haven't seen one yet, although I know there are a couple of FFs around NC that may get traded in. I had a great weekend; got to (briefly) drive a first-gen Miata, and also spotted an Aventador; I hadn't spotted one of those since 2014, so that was definitely a treat. Plus it was one that I didn't know was in the Charlotte area. Always great to find exotics that you didn't know were in your backyard, lol. Talk with you later, West!

@NCspotter Hi Nick I hope all is well my friend? Having a chance to spot that Aventador as well as getting a few moment behind the wheel of the iconic classic Miata is what I call a great weekend. Great news I can cross off another bucket list car for 2017. I spotted her on the road on Friday in Buckhead so I am really excited about that. I am thinking of using her for my 600th post that is coming up soon. Have a great weekend buddy, and I will talk with you soon.

@Horse-Power yep, trying to meet some deadlines today so I can drive down to Charlotte tomorrow, then go skiing with my brother and dad on Monday. There are a lot of Aventadors in Charlotte that I haven't spotted yet, so it was cool to see that one! As far as the Miata goes, it's almost hard to explain; it was so fun to drive, yet so disappointing at the same time. It was very easy to get used to the steering, clutch, throttle, and shifter, but unfortunately I just didn't fit very well in it. I couldn't get the seat adjusted very well (I could either have my knees pinned against the steering column, or not be able to operate the clutch pedal very well), and the windows and windshield only came up to my eye level, so I had to scrunch down to see where I was going. Strangely though, I didn't really have an issue with headroom even though the top was up.

    Continued in next comment.

@Horse-Power oops, ran out of room in the last comment! :D I was hoping to pick up a Miata within the next couple years once can afford it and have a place to park it, but sadly that looks like it is out of the picture unless I can fit better in a second generation model. My plan was to buy a Miata when the time was right, then continue to save and sell it for an S2000, then continue to save and sell that for an Elise, but it looks like I'll probably need to start somewhere else instead. Maybe a second generation MR2, as I've always kind of had a thing for those. Anyway, I can't wait to see what you spotted and will definitely keep my eyes out for it! You've sure spotted a ton of cool cars lately, so I can only imagine what it might be! Hope you're doing well; I'll talk with you later.

@NCspotter. Hi Nick all of your hard work invested in your education will eventually payoff for you in a big way. When you get settled in on the career that you want the car choices will also get larger for you. I cannot wait for the day when you tell me on what dream car you purchased! Have a great Sunday my friend, and I will talk with you soon.

@Horse-Power I'm kind of a natural saver, so the hardest part for me is spending that much money on a car! (Even though I know I'll enjoy it). Haha. Can't wait to see what your 600th spot is, although I'll be skiing tomorrow and probably won't have a chance to see it until Tuesday night. Anyway, have a great Sunday yourself; I'll talk with you later.

@NCspotter, Hi Nick it's now less then 1 month away for my track day with this NSX. I cannot wait to drive her! The best part is that since I have so much experience with the track layout all I have to do is just concentrate on the cars handling characteristics. I hope your weekend was a great one buddy?

@Horse-Power I'm sure this month can't go by fast enough for you to get to drive it! Where do you go to drive exotics like these, Road Atlanta? Someday I'm definitely going to have to check out Xtreme Xperience and drive some of their cars. My weekend was good but busy, but after this week I'll be done with my final exams, so everything will be good then! Hope you had a great weekend as well.

Also, there is a chance my parents, brother, and I may take a trip to Atlanta within the next month or two. We're still sorting everything out, and I'm not sure if we will indeed go to Atlanta or not (we might go somewhere like Charleston instead), but it is a real possibility.

@NCspotter, Hi Nick the track in question is Atlanta Motorsports Park up in the Georgia Mountains. Later on in the year will be at Atlanta Motor Speedway. This is their first time at this location, and I am excited. They will be using part of the oval course so speeds should be high. I really would like to do Road Atlanta one day.

I hope you get that chance to visit Atlanta. It has treated me very well for the last 15 years for spotting cars. I bet your gonna feel like a ton of bricks have left your shoulders once you finish your final exams! Talk with you soon my friend.

@Horse-Power ah, I forgot about that one. Up in the Charlotte area, they have had some similar events, but I've not had a chance to participate in any drives yet. I know you'll enjoy it, but anyway, hope you have fun!

Sooner or later I definitely will visit Atlanta, as I'd like to get a chance to visit the major cities in the Southeast (and eventually, everywhere else). I don't know if this will be the year or not, but once I get a job and save up some, I'll definitely take a trip down there. I'll keep you posted and will talk to you later.

@NCspotter, Hi Nick the weather changed, and ended up being perfect for my track day this past weekend! The NSX was painted in black with red accents including the calipers. If you don't mind me having your email drop me a pm, and, I would love to send you some pics. I have to say that Acura made a car that is just AMAZING! I did drive it in the sport mode, and was not disappointed with any part of that car! Well the one thing that did bother me was that in sport mode the computer will shift the car up if it feels you forgot to make a shift. I have to do some research but in full track mode it may be different. Mercedes has the same issues with the AMG GT even in full assault mode. I like to be in charge because I use the engine to help me brake later on track. I hope your weekend was a great one buddy. Talk with you soon.

@Horse-Power sounds like the wait was well worth it! That sounds like a great spec on the NSX and I'd love to see some pictures. That is a bit weird about the upshifting thing though, it would have probably bugged me as well. I just sent you a pm, so whenever you get the chance to send a few pics, I'll definitely check them out! I'll talk with you later.
